Our traditional fishing Village is 75 km south-west from the capital city Chania (Hania),on the South Cretan sea. In the last 50 years our Olive trees continue to offer us their superb oil,the Tomato plantations have brought to Paleochora farmers from the mountain villages to work here and Tourism is increasing so Northern Europeans can enjoy our lovely place during their holidays.
The Climate is superb Mediterranean,temperatures between 15-30degrees Celsius,with more than 330 Sunny days per year.

There are boats to the islands of Gavdos(Southern European point) and Elafonisi
There is a daily boat travelling on the south coast to Sougia( for the Santa Irini Gorge),then to Loutro,then to Agia Roumeli (for the famous Samaria Gorge) and Chora Sfakion
